So, as I get older the more I realize I need to do something besides running to stay in shape and of course keep my sanity since now I have 2 teenagers. For several years a friend of mine tried to get me to do yoga and I fought it until recently. I had to take off running most of the summer due to some iron deficiency issues and when I started back, the joints were not happy! Soooo, I decided it was time to give yoga a try. Not just any yoga, HOT YOGA in which the room is approximately 105 degrees and 70-80 percent humidity!! The first class I don't think I was able to do half the poses, I had to lay down to keep from passing out (literally). The second class was much easier surprisingly (and I did drink G2 which made a huge difference). Many of you may not know, I SWEAT A LOT! I don't glisten like most girls do, I sweat like a very over weight man! I finished my third class this morning and it sucked again, just like my first class. I think it was because I did it during the morning hours and did not hydrate well, so no more morning hot yoga classes for me.
Wish me luck as I continue Mommy Monday Hot Yoga classes!
Here is a pic of the poses that occur during class (2 sets of each pose). Each class is the same so hopefully soon I will feel comfortable with the routine.
Good luck! I love the flexibility yoga provides, and the quick results, but I don't know about the whole "HOT" component. Sounds like one of the circles of Hell to me.
