"Runner Mom"

So I am sure you have heard about soccer moms, but I have become a runner mom. Both of my teenagers are now runners. They unfortunately run for different schools, which means trying to coordinate 2 different schedules and not kill myself while doing it. I know what you are thinking, where is your husband? Well, he is working 12 hour shifts now and doesn't get home until 7:30 each evening, which means everyone has been to or is at practice.

I have learned over the last several months there are pertinent supplies that are to be in your vehicle at all times:

1. FOOD of any kind. It is for them to snack on before running and afterwards. It is for the mom who is at the practices for up to 4-5 hours and gets irritable because she hasn't eaten in multiple hours.

2. DRINKS-either Gatorade or water again for everyone involved.

3. CASH-for buying t-shirts at the races, parking, entry fees for parents, etc.

4. HOMEWORK SUPPLIES-for those who aren't running, so homework can be done before you get home.

5. GOOD BOOK-for the mom.

6. CHAIR-one of those portable ones to sit in while you patiently wait for your child to run and while you wait so they can watch their team mates run.

7. CAMERA-for pics of course.

8. ALLERGY MEDICINE-for those kids with allergies.

9. EXTRA RUNNING SUPPLIES-just in case someone forgot something.

10. SUNSCREEN-for those summer runs.

I think that covers the important supplies. I love watching and cheering my kids on while they are racing even though one of them doesn't want the attention, sorry man-child you will always have me cheering you on. And new teenager, I expect to be at the Olympics sometime in the future ;)
